Monday Monday

Ok, so I went out Saturday on a mini photoshoot with the Canon lens. Interesting first try, but I can tell it's going to take some getting used to! The only other lenses I'm used to are my 18-55 and my 28-80 (I want that lens back so badly). I love the reach that the 75-300 gives, but my mind is used to thinking on a wide angle setting, so switching over is hard! I keep seeing things and going to take pictures, then realizing that my lens won't pick up something that close. I know that the zoom will have benefits in certain situations, but it's gonna take me some retraining to get used to it.

I'm also going to have to get used to shooting on manual again. Been ages since I did that! I usually just adjust my shutter speed and let the camera choose an f-stop to suit. That works well, but I want to get better at choosing my own settings.

So, I boxed up the Canon and I'll be returning it and getting the Sigma lens. :D Excited about that, but I've got to pick some better photo shoot settings before I can really get any good use out of my lens. I also need to remind myself to check my lenses before boxing them up. I almost sent my circular polarizer filter back with it! O.O That would have given me a heart attack.

Ok, off to try and see what work I can find to do today.. and the rest of the week.
