Oh joy and rapture - my macro filters came yesterday! (And were sitting on my doorstep in my apartment complex.. Second box in a week that's been left at my door. Guess I can trust my neighbors more than I expected)
Anyway, I only fiddled with them a little last night, and didn't get any pics worth posting, but I can tell I'm gonna have fun with this! They basically look and act like magnifying glasses for the lens. Focal point is interesting to find. I started out with my camera on auto focus, then quickly switched to manual. Man the fun I'm gonna have! I tried them out with my only lens I've got a the moment, my 18-55, and I can just tell this is gonna be fun. I want to try and get pictures of my fish as a test, but I need better lighting in my apartment. I've given up using the cats as a subject, they don't sit still long enough for me to focus properly, then suddenly all I've got in my shot is a curious nose.
Gonna try and do some macro fish shots sometime this week! Anyone interested in getting some nice macro shots without buying a special lens, this is a good investment. Cost me less than $30 with shipping included and you get 4 strengths included. Here's where I got mine. (That link is to an ebay auction, so in a couple months, it'll probably be gone).
